Caceres, Ernie (22 November 1911–10 January 1971), jazz saxophonist and clarinetist, was born Ernesto Caceres in Rockport, Texas. Caceres took up the clarinet, saxophone, and guitar in his youth. In the 1930s he began playing music professionally in a trio with his brothers, Emilio, a violinist and the leader of the group, and Pinero, who played trumpet and piano.
