Wong, Anna May (03 January 1907–03 February 1961), actress, was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Wong Om-tsing, a laundry operator, and Lee Gon Toy. She was given the name Liu Tsong (“Frosted Yellow Willow”) by her mother. Wong received a public school education, devoting after-school hours to working in the family laundry and frequenting the local movie houses, where her aspirations for a screen acting career developed.
