Bigart, Homer (25 October 1907–16 April 1991), newspaper reporter, was born Homer William Bigart in Hawley, Pennsylvania, the son of Homer S. Bigart, a sweater manufacturer, and Anna Schardt. Bigart attended public schools and then went to Pittsburgh to study architecture at the Carnegie Institute of Technology.
