Stone, Marshall Harvey (08 April 1903–09 January 1989), mathematician, was born in New York City, the son of Harlan Fiske Stone and Agnes Harvey. The elder Stone was a prominent jurist who subsequently served on the U.S. Supreme Court from 1925 to 1942 as an associate justice and from 1942 to 1946 as chief justice.
