Jones, Charles Colcock, Jr. (28 October 1831–19 July 1893), lawyer, archaeologist, and historian, was born in Savannah, Georgia, the son of Charles Colcock Jones, a Presbyterian clergyman, professor, and wealthy plantation owner, and Mary Jones.
