Gould, Jack (05 February 1914–24 May 1993), journalist, was born John Ludlow Gould in New York City, the son of John W. Gould and Evelyn Fisk. His father was an engineer and automobile executive who died when his son was ten. Gould grew up in comfortable but not affluent circumstances.
