Roberts, Jack (08 December 1916–02 April 1990), anthropologist and ethnologist, was born John Milton Roberts in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of John Milton Roberts, Sr., a roads engineer and contractor, and Ruth Kohler. The young Roberts attended public schools in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1937 and entered the University of Chicago Law School.
