Howkins, Elizabeth Penrose (01 April 1900–10 January 1972), journalist, was born Elizabeth Webb Penrose in Johnson County, Wyoming, the daughter of James Norman Penrose and Julia Corcoran. Although her family lived in Philadelphia, Wyoming was their summer home.
