Child, Robert (1613–1654), physician and Remonstrant against Puritan rule in Massachusetts, was born in Kent, England, the son of John Child, a gentleman farmer (mother’s name unknown). He attended Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, receiving his B.A. in 1632 and his M.A. in 1635.
