McKinnon, Edna Bertha Rankin (21 October 1893–05 April 1978), birth control reformer, was born in Missoula, Montana, the daughter of John Rankin, a builder and rancher, and Olive Pickering, a teacher. Edna Rankin entered Wellesley College in 1912 but left in 1914 to enroll at the University of Wisconsin.
