Green, Constance McLaughlin (21 August 1897–05 December 1975), historian, was born Constance Winsor McLaughlin in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of Andrew McLaughlin, a professor of American history at the University of Michigan, and Lois Angell. Her father later joined the faculty of the University of Chicago, and the family moved to that city. Constance McLaughlin attended the University of Chicago High School, where she excelled in both academics and sports.
