Bell, Luther V. (20 December 1806–11 February 1862), psychiatrist and founding member of the American Psychiatric Association, was born in Francestown, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, the son of Samuel Bell, a lawyer, governor of New Hampshire, and U.S. senator, and Mehitable Dana.
