Beach, Wooster (1794–28 January 1868), physician, was born in Trumbull, Connecticut, the son of Lewis Beach. His father was of English descent and his mother’s name is unknown. Beach received a scant education in a rural school. As a young man, he developed a zealous interest in reforming religious and medical practices of the time.
