Todd, Marion Marsh ( March 1841–post-1913), lawyer, writer, and political activist, was born in Plymouth, New York, the daughter of Abner Kneeland Marsh, a Universalist preacher, and Dolly Adelia Wales. Marion apparently was educated at home until 1851, when the family moved to Eaton Rapids, Michigan. There she attended public school. A year after moving to Michigan, her father died, requiring her to work. She entered the State Normal School in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and began teaching at age seventeen. In 1868 she married Benjamin Todd, a Boston political activist. The couple had one child....
