Hill, John Wiley (26 November 1890–17 March 1977), public relations executive, was born near Shelbyville, Indiana, on the farm owned by his parents, Theophilus Wiley Hill and Katherine Jameson. After graduating from high school in 1909, he started working as a reporter for a local newspaper. Then for two years he studied journalism at Indiana University. Without graduating, he returned to newspaper work as a reporter in Akron, Ohio. In 1916, while working as a newspaper reporter in Cleveland, he married Hildegarde Beck. They had no children and would eventually divorce after more than thirty years of marriage....
