Pollyblank, Ellen Albertina (30 September 1840–20 July 1930), Anglican sister and educator at St. Andrew's Priory in Honolulu, Hawaii, Anglican sister and educator at St. Andrew’s Priory in Honolulu, Hawaii, was born in Devon, England, the daughter of Joseph Pollyblank, a Cornish linen draper, and Selina Stocker. The emphasis placed on piety in her family home led Pollyblank to join a religious order. She became a novice of the first order with the Congregation of Religious of the Society of the Most Holy Trinity in January 1867, just when a group of sisters was being prepared to undertake the society’s second mission to Hawaii. The Society of the Most Holy Trinity had been enlarged from an earlier congregation of sisters devoted to the upbringing of orphaned girls....
