Rogers, Elizabeth Ann (02 November 1829–20 February 1921), Anglican sister and educator at St. Andrew's Priory in Honolulu, Hawaii, Anglican sister and educator at St. Andrew’s Priory in Honolulu, Hawaii, was born in Cornwall, England, the daughter of James Rogers, a carpenter, and Ann Ellis. Elizabeth Ann’s early display of Catholic piety was encouraged by her family’s friendship with the vicar of Porthleven, Reverend Thomas L. Williams, and as a grown woman she became interested in devoting herself to the church. Reverend Williams introduced her to an Anglican sisterhood known as the Congregation of Religious of the Society of the Most Holy Trinity, which was a recent outgrowth of an earlier organization that had been devoted to raising the orphaned daughters of British soldiers and sailors....
