Strong, Caleb (09 January 1746–07 November 1819), lawyer and politician, was born in Northampton, Massachusetts, the son of Caleb Strong, a tanner, and Phebe Lyman. First educated by Reverend Samuel Moody in York, Maine, Strong entered Harvard College at the age of fifteen. He graduated in 1764.
