Barrymore, John (14 or 15 Feb. 1882–29 May 1942), actor, was born John Sidney Blyth Barrymore in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Maurice Barrymore and Georgiana Drew (Georgie Drew Barrymore), actors. The third of three children, Barrymore would become the most conspicuous member of America’s “Royal Family” of actors.
