Flexner, Anne Crawford (27 June 1874–11 January 1955), playwright, was the daughter of Louis G. Crawford and Susan Farnum. Born in Georgetown, Kentucky, while her parents were visiting relatives, she was named Anne Laziere Crawford after her paternal grandmother, a woman of French descent who was noted for vivacity, charm, and intelligence—qualities that also characterized her namesake. Anne Crawford spent her earliest years on the family farm in northern Georgia, but the Crawfords later moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where John M.
