Younger, Maud (10 January 1870–25 June 1936), labor and women's rights activist, labor and women’s rights activist, was born in San Francisco, California, the daughter of William John Younger, a socially prominent dentist, and Anna Maria Lane. Born into wealth, she enjoyed a life of privilege during her early years. Upon her mother’s death, twelve-year-old Maud and her four siblings inherited the considerable fortune amassed by Anna Lane’s father. Maud completed her formal education at boarding and finishing schools in San Francisco and New York....
