Fitzgerald, Edward (16 October 1833?–21 February 1907), Roman Catholic bishop, was born in Limerick, Ireland, the son of James Fitzgerald and Joanna Pratt. He immigrated with his family to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1849 and entered the Lazarist Seminary in Barrens, Missouri, the following year. In 1852 he transferred to Mount St. Mary of the West in Cincinnati and then, in 1855, to Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland, from which he graduated in June 1857....
