Donaldson, Henry Herbert (12 May 1857–23 January 1938), neurobiologist, was born in Yonkers, New York, the son of John Joseph Donaldson, a banker, and Louisa Goddard McGowan. Donaldson was a friendly, levelheaded young man, always characterized as honest and straightforward. His fascination with science and nature began at an early age, when he entered Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts.
