Peck, William Dandridge (08 May 1763–03 October 1822), entomologist, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of John Peck, a naval architect, and Hannah Jackson. Peck grew up in Boston, Braintree, and Lancaster, Massachusetts, primarily under his father’s care, his mother having died when he was seven.
