Patterson, Robert Porter (12 February 1891–22 January 1952), cabinet official and jurist, was born in Glens Falls, New York, the son of Charles R. Patterson, a lawyer, and Lodice E. Porter. He received a B.A. in 1912 from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and studied law at Harvard, where he served as chairman of the Law Review.
